Transitioning to a career in IT, with a focus on Data Analysis and Python Programming.
Hi, I am Geevan and in the past one year, I have delved into the Python programming language, focusing on areas concerning data. I’ve experimented with Web Scraping using tools like Selenium, explored and visualised data with Pandas & Matplotlib, Tableau, Power BI, PyQt5 GUI applications and others. I am now looking to transition into a Data Analysis function / role that will allow me to apply my past experience coupled with the IT skills I have recently learned to grow further in areas related to data. With me, I bring more than 20 years of experience from multiple sectors with a mature appreciation for the importance of data and the role it plays in decision making hence I am looking to develop a specialization in the area of Data Analysis. This portfolio website serves as a training log / testimony of my learning.

Summary of Work Experience
Chief Operations Officer
COO at a local non-profit , The Educational Welfare & Research Foundation (EWRF).My responsibilities included the day to day operations of the Central Office, branches nationwide, programs, charity events and grant applications and reporting to the Central Committee.
Training Specialist
Responsibilities as the Asia Pacific Training Specialist for the Society of Petroleum Engineers included leading a team of 4, analysing data of past training courses, researching, developing and organising training programmes for the Oil & Gas sector in the region.
Cyber Security / Infosec Training
Established the Centre for Advanced Security Training (CAST) for EC-Council, organisation responsible for the industry standard Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH) Certifications. Responsiblities included developing partnerships and negotiating contracts with leading trainers and training companies, negotiating contracts and ensuring the overall success of CAST.
Training Producer
Developed customised in-house training programmes to be organised in Asia Pacific and EMEA regions for Marcus Evans. Responsibilities included researching current business needs for all sorts of industries from Manufacturing, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Finance to General Management and Leadership Skills, and producing, marketing and organising training programmes catering to those needs.
Conference Sponsorship Sales
Initiated a career in sales at a company called Marcus Evans, a market leader in Conferences and Training with offices globally. Responsibilities included securing sponsorships packages for upcoming conferences through tele-sales.
Quantity Surveyor
Graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying from the University of Greenwich, UK. Projects included the Wawasan Cable Bridge in Putrajaya, Wharf Extension at Northport, Serdang Hospital and Double Tracking projects from Ipoh to Rawang.

Python has been fast becoming the most learned and talked about language for various reasons, and with Data Analysis, Python is a huge favourite. Here I show how I use Python and some of its libraries for Data Analysis. Some of the popular libraries are Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, NLTK, and NLP.
Applications & Solutions
PyQt5 is a popular Python GUI tool that I used to build a document management system for a company planning to migrate their physical documents to the cloud after digitizing / scanning them. This application helps sort documents into proper folders in order to ease the migration process to the cloud.
